What you need to know and bring to your first Beeswax Encaustic class, and I hope you are getting excited about our coming up class, I am!

My Beeswax Encaustic class is at my studio, which is in Georgetown (about 4 miles south of Downtown Seattle) it’s 1 block west of 5th Place, off Corson/Michigan Ave. at:

Equinox Studios

6555 5th Avenue S, Seattle 98108

It’s the bright blue building, you’ll be coming in the back door off the alley accessed when facing the building, go around to the left and go towards the back of the building (corner of E. Marginal Way S. and S. River St) you’ll see the alley then turn right, you’ll see the red alcove, text me and I’ll meet you there. If not on time, text me.

The Blue Equinox Studios
The door to get in is in the red alcove in the 2nd & 3rd photos

  • Wear clothes and shoes, that you won’t mind getting wax on, or a smock, it can get warm in the studio so wear layers.
  • You’ll be working on boards that are 5” x 7" or 6" x 6".
  • The wax acts as a glue, so you can bring and use most any objects; metal things, coins, fabric, buttons, ribbon, special paper, etc., basically anything!! Just not plastic as it melts with the heat gun and blow torch. I also provide many interesting papers, ribbons and more for you to use as well. For more ideas of what you can bring for collaging, see the list at the bottom of this blog post: "What is Beeswax Encaustic and What are Some of the Supplies Used in Deborah Stachowic's Class"
  • Photos should be printed on regular paper not photo paper, best if on a laser copier, and it can be in color. If you are going to work with a photo, or words, also print a reverse if possible (two different methods possible), sized for working on 5" x 7"  or 6" x 6”.

Payment at class; cash, check, or Venmo😀

If you have any questions, feel free to text or call, see you in class!😀
